The Tahoe-Truckee Bar Association (“TTBA”) is a California nonprofit mutual benefit corporation whose members consist of attorneys and judges in the Lake Tahoe and Truckee areas and surrounding communities in Northern California and Nevada. TTBA’s members are committed to providing the finest quality legal services to their clients.
The specific purposes and goals of TTBA include enhancing the system of justice; providing access to the system of justice; assisting in the delivery of legal services to the community; maintaining honor and dignity of the judiciary and the legal profession; promoting ethical standards of the legal profession; encouraging cordial relations within the legal profession; educating the legal profession; informing the community about the system of justice and the legal profession; and promoting the betterment of the local community.
To help achieve its goals, TTBA provides various networking opportunities for its members to get to know one another outside of the courtroom on a social level, including social mixer events, the annual member’s dinner, and Continuing Legal Education programs.
Over the years, TTBA has also hosted various events of interest to the community at large, such as “Candidates Night” for local elections, plebiscites for judicial nominees, and forums on topics such as the Rule of Law re: John Walker Lindh with renowned attorney James Brosnahan.
TTBA gives back to the community by awarding an annual scholarship - the Judge C. Anders Holmer Scholarship Fund - to an outstanding local high school student with a strong interest in the legal profession. TTBA members also participate in local law-related community programs, such as the 5th Grade Mock Trial program within the local elementary schools.
